About The Role
We have great opportunity for a Assistant Commercial Manager to join our commercial team in Milton Keynes.
 
The Commercial team within Salisbury provides a commercial management service to a number of departments including, Projects / Life Cycle and Service Charge departments, covering all operational expenditure. The Commercial team administers contracts and manages the impact of new requirements, capital projects and contract variations.

The Commercial team is responsible for ensuring that: 

Salisbury’s operational budget is accurate and achieved, financial commitments, risks and opportunities are managed, monitored and forecast effectively, all expenditure offers value for money and is instructed on acceptable terms and conditions, and all contracts, agreements, instructions and variations are administered in accordance with their terms and conditions and Salisbury’s corporate governance framework.

The Assistant Commercial Manager - Billing is responsible for supporting the business achieve these objectives by owning and managing all commercial matters relating to their designated accounts.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of contract change and billing processes
  • Commercial management of the FM supply contracts, client contracts, Lifecycle Replacements and capital projects.
  • Responsibility for the management and pricing of contract variations.
  • Managing supplier and client invoicing and payment.
  • Revising contract service schedules and setting service levels.
  • Preparing specifications for service alteration.
  • Document control to auditable levels supporting our financial and quality assured system.
  • Ensuring effective Quality Assurance and VFM for all activities.
  • Maintenance of an FM data management system which tracks all service variations including client services contract amendments and contractual variations.
  • Identification of Risk and opportunities, managing both the Commercial Risk and Innovation and Opportunities registers.
  • Enforcement of effective Corporate Governance in line with company procedures and policies.
  • Review and control of Scope delivery to eliminate mission creep
  • Support all other teams in relation to commercial issues.
  • Ensure all activity is carried out in line with customer and organisational KPIs.

About You
Minimum Qualifications, Certifications and Training required
  • GCSE in English and Maths or Equivalent. 
  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualified
Essential Knowledge,Skills and Experience for this role
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience within the FM industry
  • Experience of Billing
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Attention to detail
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Pro-active approach
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise against strict deadlines
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organisation
